Mission Statement
To prevent and respond to potential and actual cases of COVID-19 in the Dar Un Noor/Atlanta Science Academy community by providing clear, easy-to-follow action steps and timelines, and facilitating communication for all members of the school community in the event a member becomes symptomatic or tests positive for COVID-19.

A safe return to in-person school environments will require a culture of health and safety every step of the way. Everyone will need to remain vigilant and work together.
Students and Families
Each and every day, before sending your child to school, ensure that they are not experiencing any of the following symptoms
- Fever (100 Degrees Fahrenheit or higher), chills, or shaking chills [Taken with a thermometer]
- Cough (Unrelated to other known causes, such as a chronic cough)
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Muscle aches or body aches
- Headaches (When in combination with other symptoms)
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
- Fatigue (When in combination with other symptoms)
- Nasal congestion or runny nose (Unrelated to other known causes, such as allergies), and when in combination with other symptoms
What to do if a member of the family exhibits signs or symptoms?
- KEEP STUDENT AT HOME
- Contact the school and teacher as you would normally do to report the absence.
Action Steps
- Follow protocol for possible COVID-19 (CDC Guidelines)
- Student will transition to fully remote learning until cleared to return
- If an individual is symptomatic, they should stay home and get tested
- If the individual tests negative; return to school after they’re symptom free
- If the individual tests positive;
- Remain home
- Monitor symptoms
- Notify the school
- Stay home for at least 10 days
- MUST have a negative COVID test before being allowed back in school

What to do if an employee exhibits signs or symptoms?
- STAY HOME
- Call or text Sr. Faye or school (404) 876-5051
- Receive a return call from Sr Faye
- Sr. Faye will reach out to Sr. Mumina or Sr.Asiya
Action Steps:
- Follow protocol for possible COVID-19 (CDC Guidelines)
- If an individual is symptomatic they should stay home and get tested.
- If individual tests negative can return to school when symptom free
- If the individual tests positive;
- Remain home and monitor symptoms,
- Notify the school
- Notify personal close contacts and assist the school in contact tracing efforts.
- If positive, stay in self isolation for at least 10 days and must have a negative test result before returning to school
- Students of COVID positive teachers must stay home at least 3 days and then get tested before returning; lessons will be provided
Students with possible disruption due to COVID-19
- Be sympathetic that a student or parent is dealing with Covid-19
- Students are required to continue with at-home learning .
- Teachers are required to set aside 1 hour per day to assist at-home students with their lessons
Return to School after Virtual Learning
Student and Staff
- All students and staff returning should have a negative covid-19 test and masks worn upon entry.
- Students and staff will have temperatures taken everyday before being allowed to enter the building
- Students’ and teachers’ plexiglass desk shields should be installed
- Students’ desks should be spaced at least 3 feet apart
- Students should remain socially distanced while transitioning through the halls
- Students and staff should sanitize hands upon entering building
- Students and staff should sanitize and wash hands often throughout the day
- Students should clean desks upon arrival in the classroom and before leaving the classroom
- Masks should be worn covering the nose, mouth, and chin except when eating
- School needs a water supply for students and staff
School Building
- School should be professionally disinfected before school opening
- School should be professionally disinfected weekly (Fridays or weekends)
- Air purifiers and air circulating fans should should be purchased for classrooms that don’t have natural ventilation
- School cleaned daily following CDC guidelines
- School must have plumbing checked and repaired
- Electrician must check or install bathroom exhaust fans
