Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How long does it take to complete a test?
A: Although the tests are not timed, it usually takes students about one hour to complete each MAP® test.
Q: How often my child is tested?
A: Your child will be tested throughout the school year of 2017- 2018. Three times a year ( Fall, Winter and Spring ) to evaluate the progress of your child’s academic performance.
Q: Do all students in the same grade take the same test?
A: No. MAP® assessments are designed to target a student’s academic performance in mathematics, reading, language usage, and science. These tests are tailored to an individual’s current achievement level. This gives each student a fair opportunity.
Q: How do teachers use the test scores?
A: MAP® tests are important to teachers because they keep track of progress and growth in basic skills. They let teachers know where a student’s strengths are and if help is needed in any specific areas. Teachers use this information to help them guide instruction in the classroom.
To assist students and to better prepare them for future test, tutoring will be offered if needed. Please let me know if you have further questions regarding 2017 Fall MAP Test Administration.
